Children are just that, children. They have not fully developed understanding to a point of participating in political events, they are still learning alot about themselves and the world.

It is great to have your children hold your values obediently. They won't know anything unless they are being taught. If you don't instill values in them, someone else will. It is important to take the time to instill what is goon on them.
That how life works. A child shouldn't be thinking for themselves, that is reserved for adulthood.
